Job description


The Executive Housekeeper directs and controls all housekeeping operations and the staff of the housekeeping department. He/she must coordinate between housekeeping crews in order to inspect assigned areas and to ensure standards.

An Executive Housekeeper manages the priorities and establishes and/or implements operating procedures and standards. The Executive Housekeeper also completes financial management tasks, such as setting and adhering to a budget. Furthermore he/she supports their staff and performs the duties of a housekeeper when required. An Executive Housekeeper also needs human resource management skills such as hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating performance of his/her team.

The Executive housekeeper oversees and directs the cleaning activities for the business.

Responsible assisting with preparation of properties for special events

The work schedules are prepared and planned by the executive housekeeper, and the executive housekeeper handles customer service and complaints as well.

Cleaning materials and new items are also ordered by the executive housekeeper to ensure that their workers have the proper tools to perform their job duties.

The executive housekeeper must be aware of the schedules of others in order to time the cleaning of rooms with other properties.

Additionally, the executive housekeeper informs workers about the procedures and policies that must be followed while cleaning rooms.


Minimum of High School Diploma is required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred or equivalent of managerial/housekeeping and business experience.

Minimum of 2 or more years housekeeping and business experience

Must possess a valid Driver's License

Strong service/quality attitude.

Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet timelines.

Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.

Ability to take direction and deal with ambiguous situations.

Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with the various personnel at all levels.

A criminal background check is required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for the supervision of the housekeeping staff.

Work Environment

The work is performed primarily in residential structures and/or houses as well as maintenance of offices; and at various locations. Work may expose employee to potential chemical hazards; potential biological hazards; and potential physical hazards. Work requires the use of safety clothing and equipment, and compliance with safety rules and procedures, as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

Work requires sufficient physical strength, agility, endurance, dexterity and hand-eye-foot coordination to perform all essential duties. Work requires standing and walking for long periods of time, sitting, and kneeling, crawling, bending, climbing stairs and ladders. Will be on-call after regular working hours to respond to emergency needs.
