Estate Housekeeper

Job description

Exciting opportunity for a highly experienced, estate level housekeeper with house management experience.

The Housekeeper’s responsibilities include: Keeping all house, bathroom, pool, and patio areas clean at all times, do laundry and put items away as necessary, change and launder bedding and linens as required, clean kitchen and run dishwasher as necessary, take and pick up dry cleaning as necessary, shopping for supplies, groceries and miscellaneous items as required, maintain an on-hand inventory of all light bulbs used anywhere on the property, check all lights weekly and replace burned out bulbs. Assist owner with entertaining house guests and in organizing evening entertainment events. Replace batteries in all remote controls on a set schedule, other assignments as required.  
Clean outside furniture and cushions as necessary, minor paint and stain touch up work, get mail daily, clean all light fixtures monthly, brush dogs daily and give them a bath weekly with blow dry, keep accurate records of petty cash expenditures and compile a weekly summary sheet for employer, communicate with office as needed on projects, petty cash, work time sheets, etc.  
Schedule and supervise all outside services, as necessary, such as: gardener, window washing, pool service, electrician, plumber, painter, security system maintenance, audio/visual system maintenance, appliance repair, heating/air conditioning service, plant service, and all other outside services and repairs.  
A more detailed list of responsibilities will be provided to the successful candidate. This is the owner's second/vacation home. Owner occupancy is about fifty percent of the time. 

Requirements

Prerequisites - Must be U.S. Citizen - Must speak, read, and write fluently in English - Must have verifiable prior experience in similar position - Must have positive, verifiable references - Must be willing/able to do basic housecleaning duties daily - Must have computer experience - basic internet research, scan/email with attachments - Must be completely flexible with extra work hours per day, and extra work days (some weekends) - Must live within thirty minutes drive from La Jolla with traffic - Must be very detail oriented, observant, and thorough; excellent common sense - Must be outgoing, friendly, and upbeat; and have excellent problem solving skills - No criminal history whatsoever - Must be drug free, a non-smoker, with no alcohol or drug abuse history - Must present a professional appearance; no visible tattoos, no face/body piercings - Must submit professional resume detailing all work experience with references 


- Normal work hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM weekdays; thirty minute lunch - Five paid holidays per year - Two weeks paid vacation per year, starting after end of first year of employment - Performance and salary reviews after first six months, then annually.
